About the Sr. Specialist, Large Loss/Litigation Claims role

We’re looking for high performers who are passionate about creating fiercely loyal customers when it matters most.  You’ll be the primary point of contact on complex claim types involving high financial exposure and/or litigation.  You’ll also serve as a subject matter expert on complex coverage and liability investigations and negotiation strategies.

You will

  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve high exposure and litigated auto claims
  • Proactively work to reach a fair and equitable settlement on covered losses
  • Review and evaluate new lawsuits to determine appropriate strategy
  • Refer lawsuits to properly qualified and approved attorneys and direct their handling
  • Work with defense counsel to develop control strategies in consideration of applicable laws and venues
  • Establish reserves in accordance with company policy
  • Review and analyze litigated claims on an ongoing basis
  • Negotiate directly with attorneys on settlement of claims
  • Attend trials, mediations, and depositions as necessary
  • Review and interpret legal opinions and expert reports
  • Stay up to date on legal trends and case law

 About You

  • 5+ years auto claims experience
  • 2+ years experience handling high exposure losses and litigated claims
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-managed, highly motivated, and confident
  • Able to work well under deadlines in a high paced, changing environment
  • Effective team player
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education
  • Able to pass written licensing exams where applicable
