Staff Vehicle Package Engineer

Overview
The Staff Engineer needs to demonstrate credible automotive knowledge, engineering skills and drive for accomplishment, during the early design phase as well as fine-tuning the vehicle package throughout the development process into production.
 
The Staff Engineer will be responsible for developing the next generation vehicles for vehicle interior/occupant package targets (including driver accommodation, roominess, exterior visibility ease of ingress and egress, interior stowage and cargo space), and overall vehicle mechanical package targets.

Responsibilities
Vehicle Architecture and package development/engineering to achieve best possible geometrical integration for package efficiency, functional system integration to reduce weight, assembly complexity, service and warrant efforts
Benchmarking of competitive vehicles to support product DNA realization
Alignment of all functional system and components requirements within mechanical vehicle architecture and occupant package, interior, vision, ergonomics, ingress and egress needs as well as cargo and storage utility factors for particular vehicle package zones, such as frontend, dash, cockpit, seating/interior, underbody and rearend
Support development of complete vehicle platform bandwidth and scalability for multiple derivatives for various vehicle segments
Setting up of a complete vehicle architecture drawing and typical master sections to support vehicle architecture development
Include all functional vehicle requirements to be compatible for ideal mass distribution and weight management, aerodynamics, thermal management, passive and active safety as well as particular target customer needs

Qualifications
B.S. in mechanical engineering or related discipline
10 year professional experience, or related engineering discipline (mechanical)

Preferred Qualifications
CAD proficiency (CATIA V5/6) desirable
The Staff engineer needs to showcase high knowledge, skills and leadership, during the early and critical design phase of our new car.

Collaborate proactively with interior and exterior design, D&R functions, vehicle attribute’s responsible’s, manufacturing and service
 Extremely good communicator and organizer to be able to negotiate best possible solutions for targeted vehicle attributes and D&R functions
 Working a cross-functional automotive role high desirable
 Experience in whole/entire vehicle package a must
 Knowledge or current and upcoming legal requirements
 EV-vehicle knowhow desirable
