Purple Carrot is hiring a

Strategy Analyst

We are looking for someone who can debate favorite excel formulas and wants to make a positive change in the world! Purple Carrot provides plant-based (vegan) meal kits to help people lead healthier lives and positively impact the environment. We are a 4 year-old company that is growing rapidly and we need your help to get even bigger.

As a Strategy Analyst, you’ll crunch numbers to diagnose problems and make recommendations about next steps. And you’ll often take the next step by project-managing the implementation of your ideas in close coordination with other team members and business stakeholders. This is a great role for someone who can get into the details of analysis but also pull up to see the broader business needs. Examples of potential projects include: building customer retention tracking in a business intelligence dashboard, implementing an inventory-tracking system, and analyzing which meals are statistically rated most highly from customer surveys.

The Strategy Analyst will report to the Head of Strategy and work on projects with visibility from top leadership. This is an exciting position with an enormous potential to contribute to our organization. We move quickly, and are looking for someone who thrives in an ever-changing environment.

  • Build quantitative analysis that’s based on: squeaky clean data inputs, solid calculations, and reasoned high-level interpretation (mainly Excel)
  • Clearly and simply communicate results of analysis and projects to top-level management
  • Scope and manage cross-departmental projects using data to facilitate decision making
  • Partner with business owners to build tracking systems for key metrics / benchmarks (marketing channel evaluation, customer retention by segment, margins by product line, etc)
  • Implement and manage software systems to collect new types of customer data

  • 2-4 years applied experience in data analytics with some project management exposure preferred
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Suite
  • Experience with SQL, business intelligence tools (we use Looker), and relational databases a plus, but not required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Structured thinker who can bring organization to any problem and is able to manage multiple projects concurrently with cross-functional coordination
  • Prior experience in a startup or fast-moving company strongly desired
  • Comfortable in and excited about working in a team environment
  • Able to report to Needham, Massachusetts headquarters
