Position Overview

The Supervisor of Residuals is a key role responsible for overseeing a smaller number of residuals teams and building strong relationships with clients and unions while focusing on show setups and contract interpretation. This position will collaborate with the Manager of Residuals to ensure the team provides accurate and timely residuals processing and following guild agreements. The Residuals Supervisor will directly communicate with the assigned clients to ensure that priorities are properly addressed, as well as to manage backlog status and meet the setup and processing SLAs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage end-to-end residuals-related operations, including show setups, workloads, forecasting, and process optimization, ensuring accurate and timely residuals processing for assigned clients.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of distribution statements and talent/producer agreements and create product briefs to ensure accurate and timely residual payments for clients.
  • Respond to client questions and requests regarding residuals setups and payments promptly and professionally.
  • Leads weekly or bi-weekly Client touch points and provides overall status, ensuring that the team delivers accurate and timely tasks per the client’s defined priority.
  • Updates and assigned Residuals tickets to the team to reflect on accurate active dashboard and status.
  • Ensure accurate and organized recordkeeping of residuals-related data and documentation.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, enforce policies and standards related to techniques, material usage, capacity planning, employee scheduling, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and performance measures. Assists with the team’s training on the latest contracts and system enhancements/processes.
  • Manage and accurately prepare all guild reporting and payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with product and technology departments to implement new business methods and automated procedures related to residuals processing.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for bug fixes and new system enhancements.
  • Conduct team training on system integration and new features.
  • Configure and review residual products, including talent contracts, to accurately identify residuals, made-for-market, and adjustments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of union contract residuals provisions, fringes, regulations, deadlines, industry standards, and requirements.
  • Undertake other duties and projects as assigned by Management

Key Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required. A four-year college degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the entertainment residuals field is required.
  • Understanding of and commitment to maintaining current knowledge of industry trends, concepts, products, practices, and financial arrangements.
  • Proficiency in technology and PC skills, including working with residual payment systems or production technology, and basic PC applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate effective interactions with team members and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively towards common goals.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience with process/system integration is preferred.

Special Work Conditions    

  • Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.
Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation range for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
The compensation range for this position is:
$95,000$105,000 USD
