System Support Specialist I

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • Support Services Technician
  • Imaging, installing, configuring, and maintaining of user computers, connections, and peripherals.
  • Performance tuning of end user computers.
  • Removal and installation of all IT equipment during moves, remodels, deployments, and build out of offices including computers, switches, routers, printers, and peripherals.
  • Interacting with end users to fully utilize MIS resources.
  • Works Help Desk tickets to provide timely response and resolution.
  • System administration, e.g. adding/deleting end users, as well as managing user and computer accounts.
  • Integrating systems to meet business needs with automation.
  • Coordinating with other information systems resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE

  • Graduation from accredited high school or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working as System Support Specialist or similar job.
  • Industry certifications are a plus (A+, Network+, MCP, etc.)

ESSENTIAL TASKS & STANDARDS

  • Imaging, installing, configuring, and maintaining of user computers, connections, and peripherals.
  • Performance tuning end user machines.
  • Removal and installation of all IT equipment during moves, remodels, deployments, and build outs of offices including computers, switches, routers, printers, and peripherals.
  • Interacting with end users to fully utilize MIS resources.
  • Works Help Desk tickets to provide timely response and resolution. Documents both on-going and resolved work in Help Desk.
  • Maintain working relationship with other departments within the agency.
  • Documents build/rebuild of any new or existing computer.
  • Documents IT equipment in MIS database.
  • Uses work hours efficiently.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 7 and newer)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (2007 and newer).
  • Knowledgeable of PC components and operation.
  • Possess solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work efficiently both with others and under limited supervision.
  • Ability to communicate well with others at all levels in the English language
  • Must be flexible and willing to work to meet established deadlines.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS

  • Must have valid Texas Driver License and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to complete all LifePath Systems training.
  • Must be able to provide at least 3 professional or educational references. 

BENEFITS

Salary Range: $38,000 - $40,000 per year              

Shift Hours:  Monday - Friday  8am - 5pm
