Twitch's Core Systems team is responsible for developing, managing, and operating the core infrastructure and services that Twitch's production and development applications run on. This includes managing services across cloud environments (EC2) as well as our own bare metal infrastructure.
These services are the backbone that all of our customer-facing services rely on, so as a member of the Systems team, you have a goal of the maintaining the highest possible availability for these services. This also involves making this shared infrastructure scalable and easy to maintain, as well as making sure that product engineering teams are able to rely on and use these services with the minimum of fuss.
