Role Description:

This role is an opportunity in the exciting and fast-growing transportation technology industry.  Public transit is being transformed from a system of static, scheduled fixed-routes, to a dynamic on-demand network of vehicles, and you’ll be one of the pioneers shaping this transformation.  

In this role, you will join a small but rapidly growing people team. As a Talent Acquisition and sourcing specialist, you will work with our hiring leaders and the people team to deliver full-cycle recruitment including developing and deploying proactive sourcing and selection strategies to ensure RideCo is hiring the best talent that fits both culturally and technically. Additionally, you’ll help craft executive hiring plans and help fill hard-to -fill executive level positions. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Source: find new and creative sourcing opportunities to build a diverse pipeline of talent and fill hard-to-fill roles; identify and utilize sourcing tools and resources to recruit qualified candidates via a variety of different methods (i.e., boolean searches, colleges, job websites, associations, and professional networks)
  • Executive Recruitment: Strategize and develop executive hiring plans and fill executive level roles
  • Full cycle recruitment: assist in the full cycle recruitment process including job description creation, building a robust sourcing strategy, phone interviews, scheduling and coordinating interviews, extending and negotiating job offers, completing references and background checks
  • Deliver a first-class candidate experience: provide timely feedback at each stage of the hiring journey and ensure a positive experience for each candidate 
  • Tools: provide an efficient recruitment process managing all applicants through our applicant tracking system, RecruiterBox
  • Collaborate: conduct weekly meetings with hiring leaders to strategize on hiring needs, interviews, and offers 
  • Educate: train and coach our hiring leaders on recruitment best practices 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology or related field
  • Professional Designation (CHRP or CHRL) or actively working towards it is preferred 
  • 5+ years full cycle recruitment experience in a high growth organization, preferably in a start-up environment, supporting both technical and non-technical teams 
  • Proven track record of hiring executive level candidates
  • Experience building and utilizing a variety of sourcing plans and tools
  • Experience managing an ATS system (we use RecruiterBox), familiarity with an HRIS system (we use Humi), and experience working with G-suite applications
  • An aptitude and interest in technology and the ability to speak confidently about different types of roles in the technology sector 
  • Location: Based in Waterloo, Ontario, or willing to relocate.

Compensation and benefits:

  • Base Salary: $70,000-90,000
