Technical Account Manager - API

The API Technical Account Manager is responsible for providing technical guidance to key customers and partners who are leveraging AccuWeather’s core location and weather data APIs. They work closely with the sales team to win new business and increase sales to existing customers. By providing top-quality technical service on a pre and post sales basis, the technical account manager ensures customer satisfaction and strengthens customer relationships. In this role, the TAM will coordinate and facilitate critical technical support requests that come into AccuWeather’s support desk and work with the operational and development teams to resolve any API issues affecting customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively respond to support requests from key API partners and customers
  • Ensure timely response/resolution to technical and product inquires
  • Ensure resolution results within established Service Level Agreement Guidelines
  • Record and document all issues related to customers within established process guidelines
  • Monitor support requests to identify any recurring issues and recommend changes to products
  • Provide and review API documentation with new and existing customers
  • Demonstrate products to customers and explain how the proposed product or solution meets customers’ needs
  • Analyze customers’ support requirements and identify areas where the company can offer improved service or reduce support costs
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Experience / Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree in Science, Technology, or related field required
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Good understanding of IT dependencies; how customer requirements translate to developing applications and systems
  • Strong organization skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment under changing and strict deadlines
  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and/or client, prospective clients, and community organizations
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, multitask, and balance work in the face of rapidly changing needs
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
