Technical Artist - Mobile Games - Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

You will be working on the development of our social mobile game with other artists, software engineers and producers to design and implement features using Unity, mostly 2D (Unity UGUI Images/Canvas), and some 3D scenic elements. You will be responsible for making sure the art integrated in a scene takes into consideration draw calls, number of polygons, texture compression, target frame rates and technical limitations. Integrating those assets using UGUI and RectTransform for easy layout positioning and then animating them with Mecanim, decide about better or more performant shaders to integrate and in general make sure the art team provides the right assets.

Core Responsibilities

Collaborate with artists and engineers to help build features and solve creative problems
Ensure art assets can be easily integrated into the game without sacrificing the artistic vision or exceeding the platform’s technical limits
Integrate 2D Sprite/UI Image assets with knowledge of UGUI/Mecanim animations
Integrate 3D scenic assets with different Level Of Details
Investigate new techniques, implement them and train the team

Required qualifications

Expert with Unity Game Engine
Expert with Unity UGUI/UI Image/Canvas and RectTransform
Have shipped at least a mobile game on Android and iOS

Bonus Skills

Experience collaborating within a multi-person game studio
Experience scripting Shaders/C#
Experience in animating with Mecanim
Experience using Git
