The Role:
As a Principal Consultant - SDET, you should be able to apply your extensive knowledge of software engineering, testing methods, tools and techniques to provide bespoke solutions for our automation and non-functional project requirements.
You will have experience of leading a team from a technical standpoint, leading by example with the exemplary work that you do.
Candidates are expected to have hands-on experience of automated and/or performance testing, developing suitable test approaches and managing/leading teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and support automation and / or performance test frameworks using a variety of commercially available tools as well as bespoke solutions
- Work closely with the client to fully understand their non-functional requirements to create a bespoke QA Strategy
- Perform technical focussed QA Health Checks covering client existing approaches to automation and / or performance testing
- Lead a team of highly skilled testers providing them with guidance and mentorship when needed
- Work closely with our clients to define and develop the best possible solutions
- Provide expert advice and feedback to our clients
- Work closely and collaboratively with other teams across the business
- Be tool agnostic and recommend new processes and techniques to improve the capability of testing for our clients.
- Produce clear and concise reports and documentation
- Ability to work independently
Desired Skills:
- 10+ years commercial experience of automation and/or performance testing
- Have extensive experience working within a Consultancy / Managed Service background
- Proven experience of Leading small teams of technical testers
- Great advantage if you have lead overall QA or testing effort
- Working knowledge of a variety of automation test tools (Selenium,Cypress,FlaUI,TestCafe,katalon etc )
- Working knowledge of a variety of performance test tools (JMeter, Gatling,K6 Neoload, Webload)
- The ability to develop complex code in at least one of the following (Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Scala, PHP)
- Experience of designing and developing automation frameworks
- Experience of working in an Agile development environment (SCRUM, Kanban, DSDM, TDD, BDD)
- Understanding of Continuous Integration (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps etc) and ability to implement.
- Keeping upto date on newer developments in tooling and/or design patterns.
- IaC experience an advantage as it working with various cloud technologies
