Test Analyst - Operational Acceptance Testing

Due to continued growth and an expanding client base, we are looking for an Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) Test Analyst to join our delivery team on a permanent basis. Candidates must have the technical aptitude, professional approach, and continuing motivation, such that they can apply their skills in any environment and be willing to adapt and change to the challenges and opportunities which the role presents.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years commercial experience carrying out technical / OAT testing

  • Strong understanding of multi-tier, high-availability architectures and how to test them

  • Ability to derive meaningful test scenarios from available non-functional requirements and system architectures / solution designs
  • Experience of OAT in either physical data centres or cloud-based deliveries (e.g., AWS / Azure)
  • Understanding of the different layers of high-availability architectures (e.g., Proxy, Webserver, Middleware, Application Tier, DB Tier, Storage, Back-up capability, networking etc.)
  • Understanding of ITIL / Service Management requirements
  • Planning and co-ordinating OAT tests, defining test approach, capturing evidence, regression testing and reporting on test progress
  • Identifying and raising quality defects and managing the fix and retest with vendors / support teams
  • Understanding of he the need for requirements traceability and can implement the necessary processes to track and report
  • Establishing and maintaining test progress dashboards
  • Utilising risk-based test techniques to prioritise workloads
  • Communicating test progress with senior client stakeholders
  • Identifying and escalating any project risks and issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with client stakeholders and third parties
  • Supporting service readiness and acceptance of the solution in to BAU
  • Experienced in Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience of testing either Linux based or Windows Server based systems
  • Ability to deal with complex technical challenges and come up with effective solutions to ensure customer project deliverables
  • Passion for quality and interested in continuing to develop and adapt to technology changes

 

Desirable:

  • Consultancy background
  • Experience of Automation and Performance testing
  • Broad knowledge of testing tools across test and defect management, including automation and API testing tools
  • Exposure to infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform, ARM, Ansible
  • Experience of using Jira and Confluence
  • Experience of Encryption / Certification; Infrastructure / Platform Hardening; Encryption for Data in Transit / Data at Rest; Disaster Recovery test activities
  • Security Cleared or eligible for SC Clearance
