Training Program Specialist

Summary of this Role:

The Content Manager will join the newly established Wayfair Academy team in its mission to deliver education on the tools and features available to partners within the extranet portal (Partner Home) to help manage and grow their business. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the training development process, including:

  • Identifying current and future training needs through careful analysis of various data sources
  • Overseeing end-to-end process flow of content generation, from first drafts developed by subject matter experts through final formatting and editing by copywriting
  • Partnering with subject matter experts to ensure training materials and curriculum are current, accurate, and effective
  • Monitoring and evaluating training program’s success and making recommendations for improvement

What You Will Do

  • Manage a small team of Content Consultants who will partner with Subject Matter Experts to develop new educational content
  • Evaluate existing training and development materials to ensure coverage across all topics and supplier experience levels.
  • Modify existing training materials to ensure accuracy and relevancy.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop new training materials that achieve defined learning outcomes.
  • Develop standards and guidelines to support training content development.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of goals and expected results for each training. 
  • Track training outcomes and identify opportunities to improve.
  • Continually research training methods and techniques to remain up-to-date on developments within the industry and across competitor sites.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years work experience within an e-commerce or corporate retail organization preferred
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholder groups 
  • Strategic and creative mindset with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Critical thinker with innovative problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners

  • [Ideal] Knowledge of learning management systems, instructional design, and e-learning platforms
