The Training Specialist Team at LiveCA is dedicated to providing our growing customer base with a memorable support experience. As a Training Specialist, you’ll be an essential part of our technical support team which helps both our customers and our team members on a daily basis. 

The Role:

We’re growing rapidly and require a Training Specialist with strong technical accounting knowledge, outstanding communication skills, and a desire to make a difference with our customers. You'll be responsible for developing a trusting relationship with each customer and need to be confident in your ability to provide sound advice on issues that matter to them. Here are a few of the highlights of things you'll be involved in:

  • Customer Training - You’ll conduct online face-to-face training sessions with customers to walk them through their accounting systems and workflow.
  • Support Tickets - You’ll quickly learn the accounting systems that we use on a daily basis to offer high-quality technical support. With guidance from the team, you’ll be monitoring our support ticketing system and swiftly dealing with customer support issues.
  • Documentation - Your writing style can shine through the numerous procedure and training plans you'll develop for our customers.  
  • App Research & Testing -  As a member of the Tech Team, you’ll also participate in both internal and external technical research - searching for and analyzing other online apps and systems that may improve the workflow for the firm or our customers.
  • Future Mentor - There’s room to grow in this role. We hope you’ll want to act as a mentor to new team members and continue to be an integral part of process and workflow improvements at the firm.

Who you'll be working with

Whether you're working with a high-profile startup that's just received a large round of venture capital funding or an independent consultant looking for personal financial advice, you'll certainly be working with some pretty fascinating people who are passionate about what they do. You'll be constantly faced with new challenges and diverse engagements as you learn to tailor your approach to each customer individually all while working with some of the newest online technology.

You'll also be working with a pretty amazing team who really care about what they do and who will drop whatever they're doing to help out a customer or a colleague.

As an ideal candidate, you have the following skills/experience:

  • You have a desire to learn about cloud-based accounting including invoicing, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, reporting, clearing accounts, etc. (some bookkeeping experience in Xero is preferred but not mandatory)
  • Strong customer service and support experience will be given preference (e.g: tech support or retail/service industry experience)
  • You enjoy learning and trying out new software/technologies
  • You enjoy working outside your comfort zone and challenging yourself to tackle new types of customers (e-commerce, crypto, VC funds)
  • You've mentored other team members before and are comfortable providing feedback
  • You're comfortable making decisions on your own and are confident in your ability to provide sound workflow and accounting process advice directly to clients
  • You can talk to a client about their accounting process simply and clearly
  • You can work effectively from home
  • You are a Canadian resident

Working at LiveCA

You’ll be free to work within your own schedule - wherever, whenever - so long as the work gets done. Most of the team works a traditional 9-5 schedule, but if you need to take some time off for personal errands, just block it off on your calendar. With no in-office face-time and the responsibility of dealing directly with customers, we’re going to really need to trust you - which is why we’ve built in a diligent interview and probation process.

Our interview process is as follows:

  2. A one-way video interview (3 super-simple questions via Kira Talent)
  3. Interview with our HR Team
  4. Interview with one of the Partners
  5. Trial workdays (two full paid days working with us remotely to learn about the role and the team)
  6. Offer
