Training Team Manager

We are looking for a manager to lead one of our Operational Training Teams in Ocado Logistics.

We need someone who can demonstrate positive leadership and management behaviours, putting them to effective use to ensure we are providing a best in class service for our customers.  Promoting effective, motivational and positive communication throughout the team and to the business. We need a person who can manage all of the day to day reactive actions required, as well as being able to focus on the future. 

As a Training Team Manager you will lead a team of frontline trainers either within the Fulfilment Operation or the Delivery Operation. In this role you will represent your team and manage the relationship between the Operation and the Training Team. As well as creating strong links with the Regional People Teams.

Reporting to the National Training & Development Manager, you will be accountable for managing the Training Team ensuring the service provided to the operation is high quality, consistent and delivered in a people and customer focused way. Providing MI and reporting to the Operator and the Senior Training Team.

You will review and update training processes in line with business needs and focus, ensuring clear and effective communication and management of these changes across the wider training team and their direct reports, and all working practices/communications are aligned to the new practices and embedded in the technologies. Being a thought leader, making recommendations for improvements of our offering to the senior training team.

Flexibility is required in this role as learning interventions may on occasions be delivered outside of normal working hours to accommodate shift patterns. 

What will you be doing?

  • Training & Development Team Member, an Ambassador for Training & Development across Ocado Logistics.
  • Advocate for consistency in our offering across OL, in line with network growth supporting the expectations of our retailers.
  • Leading a Training Team within Ocado Logistics.
  • Providing a best in class service to our customers, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Advocate for Product Mindset and Change Management.
  • Represent your Training Team within your Region / CFC.
  • Partnering with the Operators and the People Partners, understanding what the opportunities are across the Region / CFC, and how to effectively exploit these.
  • Reporting accurate Management Information and Key Performance Indicators
  • Programme & Course Facilitation, across the Delivery Operation  and Fulfilment Operation.
  • Leading the Team in best practice.
  • Seeking opportunities and promoting continuous improvement.
  • To undertake/support project work from to achieve business goals
  • Performance managing your team, with regular check ins, identifying areas for development and nurturing talent in your team.
  • Problem solving and issue resolving within your Region / CFC.
  • Ongoing communication to: Management, Operators and all your direct reports to ensure they are fully briefed on processes and updates.

What do we want to see?

  • Experience of leading and managing a team.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced operational environment
  • Must have previous experience within a training and development role or similar
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business from operational workforce to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload in an ever changing environment
  • Ocado Group &  Ocado Logistics knowledge is preferred
  • Driving Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (Delivery Operations only)
  • Fleet Registered (Delivery Operations only)
