  • Job Title: Transcreation Specialist II
  • Job Summary: This role will translate, proof, and edit company’s software products, web content, graphics, user interface elements, and other marketing, technical or product documentation from English or Castilian Spanish to Spanish as used in LATAM territories. This position starts as a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role.

What you’ll do

  • Work with localisation teams to adapt material to meet high linguistic quality and cultural requirements.
  • Create and maintain product specific terminology glossaries and language style guides to ensure consistency and cultural conformity.
  • Take responsibility for projects, including premier projects, leading one or more support editors throughout the process, maintaining an across-the-board picture of the project’s timeline and needs, developing functional experience with the project, and ensuring that the final outcome is a faithful and consistent adaptation of product, customer communication, or marketing collateral goals.
  • Translate, edit, review, and proof a variety of company-wide materials, with a primary focus on video game marketing materials, such as websites, press releases, video subtitles, social media posts, and organised play documents.
  • Edit of grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, and language-specific slang in the language of expertise.
  • Ensure consistency in style and terminology.
  • Adapt text information to suit the needs of various audiences.
  • Interact daily with other teams and departments on matters of terminology and style.
  • Ensure consistency by applying a sound knowledge of the brand and internal guidelines, supporting new members of the team in gaining an equal level of knowledge.               

What you’ll bring

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • Near-native level language skill of their localisation language and fluent English language skill is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate, edit, revise, or rewrite text-based content in language of expertise.
  • Must be detail oriented, with proven experience in handling multiple simultaneous projects, including publishing under regular deadlines.
  • Must be a team player with exceptional communication and project management skills.
  • Able to work flexibly in an environment that features tight deadlines and shifting schedules.
  • Ability to learn how to use specialised technical programs quickly. Pokémon brand knowledge is a plus.
  • Additional experience using translation, localisation, subtitling or publication tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MemoQ is a plus.
  • Experience in the gaming industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between £39,000.00 - £46,550.00 per year. The full range is £39,000.00 - £59,000.00 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
