Our Division


An internal facing division, GSS is responsible for technology, support and delivery. Its function –including our Data Collection, UX, Customer Support and Trading teams – is to provide 24/7 operational and technical support so that our commercial teams can deliver their range of products and services to our partners.

The Role 

As a UI/UX Designer at Genius Sports Services you will be gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components to assist the development of our internal/external websites as well as our data collection tools. You will be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes. As a UX designer will also be expected to design the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.

Main Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and developers
  • illustrate design ideas using process flows, sitemaps, or low fidelity mockups
  • Design graphic user interface elements and components, like menus, tabs, and widgets
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
  • Create original graphic assets (e.g. images, icons, and tables)
  • Prepare and communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere and contribute to the design system standards and UI guidelines

Required Skills

  • Proven work 2+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role. 
  • Portfolio of design projects
  • Experience with a design process and UX methods and techniques (users/stakeholders interviews, card sorting, brainstorming, competitive audit, heuristic evaluation, usability tests, quantitative/qualitative research).
  • Knowledge of prototyping tools (e.g. Abstract, InVision, Zeplin)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Good time-management skills
  • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
  • BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field.


Desirable Skills

  • Bonus points for candidates who have experience designing complex solutions such as dashboards, reporting tools, metrics visualization, and data cataloging products.
  • Some experience in visual design could be a plus.
