OVERVIEW

  • Unit Manager - Nurse will organize, Supervise and Evaluate Resident Care. Perform Quality Improvement Activities for the Unit. Conduct Performance Evaluations for Unit Support Staff. Know and Enforce State Rules and Facility Policies. Participate in Nursing Management Activities and Committees. Know and Support Facility Philosophy, Standards, Policies and Procedures.  Promote Constructive Working Relationships between Health Care Disciplines. Promote Favorable Public Relations. Exhibits Professional Nursing and Leadership. Perform Related Tasks as Required.

     

    Shift: Full Time 1st

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Supervise CNA's.
    • Develop daily shift assignments based on care needs and staff qualifications.
    • Conduct observations evaluating resident's response to treatment and observing care provided by licensed and non-licensed personnel.
    • Assure personal care is being provided and documented in accordance with the assessed and identified needs.
    • Assure facility medical records policies and procedures are adhered to.
    • Perform nursing assessments in conjunction with changes in clinical conditions.
    • Notify or assure notification is made to the attending physician, resident, or sponsor or significant changes in medical condition.
    • Requests and assures supplies and equipment are available to perform care and treatment as required by the resident.
    • Assess the resident’s health status every six months and write summary analysis of observations.
    • Assure physician’s orders are reviewed and signed by the attending physician every six months or in accordance with change in status.

    Qualifications

    • Licensure/Certification: Registered nurse graduate from accredited or state approved School of Nursing with current license to practice in the State of Indiana, in good standing. 
    • Experience: At least one year in supervisory or administrative role.  Prefer two years geriatric or long-term care nursing experience.
