Vice President of Platform Engineering

As the Vice President of Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, you will be responsible for leading and shaping our cloud engineering strategy, architecture, and development efforts. Your primary focus will be on delivering robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions to support the company's long-term growth and ensure exceptional service reliability for our customers. You will lead a team of highly skilled engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to align technology solutions with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Strategy

• Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud infrastructure strategy aligned with the company's vision, goals, and industry best practices.
• Identify opportunities to optimize existing cloud resources and explore innovative technologies to enhance our cloud capabilities.

Data Architecture and Design

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure data architectures that enable efficient data collection, storage, and processing.
• Oversee the development and deployment of ETL pipelines, data integration processes, and data transformation workflows.
• Manage data storage solutions, including databases, data lakes, and cloud-based storage systems.

Cloud Operations and Maintenance

• Monitor and maintain the performance and reliability of cloud infrastructure, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure seamless operations.
• Implement automation and monitoring tools to optimize cloud resource utilization and performance.

Security and Compliance

• Establish and enforce robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.

Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing distributed team of cloud engineers, architects, and developers.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in leading cloud engineering teams and driving successful cloud and data infrastructure projects.
• Extensive expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with Data Engineering(e.g. Apache Kafka, Apache Flink), Data Warehouse solutions (e.g. Redshift, Athena, Snowflake) and NoSQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture best practices, security principles, and compliance standards.
• Demonstrated experience in optimizing cloud resources to achieve cost efficiency and scalability.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $280,000- $290,000. Equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and other qualifications as well as the candidate’s location of residence. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
