What we're looking for

Reporting to the President, we are looking for a VP of Product - Platform to lead our team of experienced product managers, drive the evolution of our company-wide cloud-based SAAS platform (including payments, identity, database, security and machine learning), and chart the course for future step function capabilities. You will have experience building Enterprise-grade platforms, an understanding of the technical requirements for web-scale systems, and a track record for delivering platform components for multi-product companies. Experience enabling ecosystems with APIs, Machine Learning, and payments a plus.

You will

  • Drive the success of multiple lines of business by partnering with General Managers and product leaders to align on product strategy and provide the features and functionality that solve our customer problems
  • Collaborate with platform users, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, information security, and IT leadership on the strategy and sustainability of the platform portfolio
  • Understand the evolving landscape of current and potential partners for SurveyMonkey
  • Use experience in developer ecosystems to develop a strategy support an excellent developer experience for external partners and customers
  • Work with Engineering teams to design and build scalable platform components for delivering product capabilities, and the mechanisms for supporting them at scale
  • Lead a motivated team of Product Managers to deliver on the product, experience, and technology strategy
  • Partner with Engineering and Design to translate strategy into concrete tactics, programs/projects, precise product priorities, specifications, and documentation
  • Define and track key metrics and success criteria for product features and offerings pre and post-launch
  • Sell new product platform vision and strategies to both internal and external audiences by creating impactful story-telling and presentations to partners and stakeholders.

You have

  • Technical ability – are comfortable talking with engineers about solutions, learning from existing examples, and speaking on any of the technical aspects that the product team is working on
  • Minimum five years of experience building, scaling and managing a mid- to large-scale platform
  • Strong business acumen, with people management experience and the ability to influence cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams to produce results.
  • 10+ years of product strategy and management experience (mostly) in SaaS products and platforms
  • Experience creating compelling frameworks to develop and validate product theses based on primary and secondary research
  • Outstanding strategic and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills will be needed in order to build the strong relationships that will be essential to the success of this role.
  • Technical BS/BA Or experience as a working software developer required
