eero is hiring a

Visual Interaction Design Internship

San Francisco, United States
Internship

Job overview:

Design is core to eero’s identity. Every detail – the product’s physical form, our packaging, our simple and intuitive app, even the company’s name – reflects this. We’re looking for a thoughtful, passionate, and infectiously creative visual design intern who can help us create product experiences that make our homes feel like part of the family.

Candidates should be expert storytellers with experience in mobile graphic design. We follow a user-centered design philosophy and value exploration, speed, collaboration, and attention to detail. You’ll need to move fast and smart, but that’s what makes it fun. Color, type, layout, and illustration should feel natural. Skills in motion design or data visualization are a great plus.

Along the way, you’ll develop a deep understanding of our strategy within the connected home and how we translate those ideas into product. You’ll gain exposure to fast-growing, data driven product organization and work hand in hand with engineers, product managers, marketing, data scientists, and user researchers. You’ll be talking to customers, designing experiences, and shipping. Sound exciting? Great, we think so too :)

What you’ll do:

  • Work with UX Designers, researchers and product managers to understand user’s needs and behaviors inside the home
  • Work with other Visual Designers and Developers to assist in bringing concepts to life. Prototype, iterate, and experiment each step of the way.
  • Ship product experiences you feel proud of.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is Curious.  You get excited about things you don’t know. You ask lots of questions and go searching for answers. Geeking out is part of what makes it fun to come to work.
  • Communicates like a pro. You know how to articulate your designs in a way others understand. You collaborate and thrive in group settings.
  • Is exceptionally creative. You know how to go broad with your explorations but then focus back as your refine your idea.
  • Sweats the details. You’re not satisfied until it’s pixel perfect. You take great pride in your work.
  • Is keenly self aware. No egos. You welcome critical feedback and understand how to use it to improve your work.
  • Has a basic understanding of wireframing and prototyping software. (Sketch, Omnigraffle, Photoshop, Invision, Principle)
  • Motion or data visualization skills are a big plus
  • Is working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design, Visual or Graphic Design, or a related major.
  • Is an all around awesome person.
  • Oh, pursuant to San Francisco city ordinances, we’ll consider employment for qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records too.
