Accelo is looking for an experienced Marketing professional with an exceptional track record of success to help lead the company through its next phase of growth. As VP of Marketing, you will play a dynamic and strategic role in leading and evolving three core functions of critical organizational performance: positioning the brand and evangelizing the category, generating demand (through paid, earned and event channels), and driving product marketing and user communications. The ideal candidate will be an execution-oriented and data-driven leader who knows how to listen well and tell a story even better. This person will be a key driver in Accelo's growth while building go to market strategies.
Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Marketing will be a key member of the Accelo leadership team. You'll work closely with leaders of the Sales, Success, and Product teams to effectively present our products, position our solution against the competition, and tell the Accelo story. This is a dynamic leader who will also be involved in developing and mentoring an established marketing team.
Accelo is a SaaS business automation tool for SMB professional services organization. We help small, and medium size businesses get back to the work that they love.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Leading the team and managing all facets of marketing including digital campaigns, website and landing page performance, PR and communications as well as brand and category development.
Defining, establishing, and continuously improving our lead generating marketing process, benchmarks and objectives to drive awareness, interest and leads through various channels.
Owning marketing performance and data, including attribution and the performance of both paid and earned media as well as the experiments from a multitude of experiments (A/B, MVT, event-based changes, etc) to build a confident understanding of the performance of our marketing machine and to inform insights into areas of ongoing improvement and investment to drive more leads.
Coaching, leading and mentoring our marketing team, building cross-functional skills and relationships both within the marketing team and in partnership with other teams (Sales, Account Management, etc).
Conducting routine one on ones with direct reports and key stakeholders and serving as a mentor.
Staying aware of the developments and changes in the industry, competition, and our clients, particularly those affecting channel performance, lead sources and conversion performance.
Recruiting and retaining a high-performance and highly engaged marketing team.
Establishing strong relationships and partnerships across departments and collaborating on solutions that remove roadblocks/barriers to growing revenue.
What You'll Accomplish at Accelo
Within your FIRST MONTH you'll:
Understand the Accelo marketing system, including our channels, assets, processes and reporting, and be making notes about ways to improve it.
Build relationships with your peers in Sales and Client Success as well as the leaders who support you and your team (Operations, People and Finance).
Understand the Accelo ICP, personas and go-to-market plan.
Gain a high-level understanding of the Accelo product through direct training and self-paced onboarding materials.
Within your FIRST QUARTER you'll:
Have established and begun to implement a campaign plan, budget and expected outcomes as well as the resources/assets that need to be deployed to successfully execute the campaign.
Have completed hiring for key internal roles (digital marketer, front end developer and perhaps others) and have a plan in place for making these new team members successful.
Have developed a revised financial model including spend and lead targets based on performance assessed and predicted.
Within your FIRST YEAR you'll:
Have at least doubled our number of MQLs per month while maintaining a cost per MQL of below $500.
Have developed a plan, budget and performance commitments for your first full calendar year as our marketing leader.
Have implemented a repeatable and data driven campaign management and execution model to allow us to be proactive and confident in resourcing other parts of the business.
What We’re Looking For
7+ years experience spanning marketing, digital marketing, demand generation, and marketing operations.
Strong leadership experience and a mentorship mentality.
Strong analytical skills - able to leverage data into actionable insights to create impactful marketing programs.
Experience with marketing B2B SaaS, ideally to SMB buyers.
Excellent track record of launching new products with go to market strategies and executing on them.
Ability to work in a growth environment where you'll be creating the way things are done, not frustrated that it isn't already laid out for you.
Deep understanding of online and offline lead generation strategies - advertising, earned media, social media, content marketing, email, etc.
