VP, People Operations

Liftoff is a rapidly-growing and profitable marketing technology startup that is changing the way companies discover and engage with mobile app users. We’re looking for a VP of People Operations to strategically refine our culture and people practices as we continue to double our team size annually. Our ideal candidate is a forward-thinking, data-driven leader who will both mentor and build our people team and be an active participant in tactical work, ranging from recruiting and cultural development to compliance and benefits planning. This team member will also work with the CEO and executive team on strategic initiatives related to our longer-term growth and success.

What your day to day-to-day will look like:

  • Leading recruiting team in setting and achieving hiring goals, innovating on process and pipeline building, and providing memorable candidate experiences
  • Ensuring people team is distinguishing Liftoff in recruiting efforts and staying ahead of how other companies are attracting and retaining talent
  • Collaborating with CEO in headcount planning across the company
  • Proactively leading discipline around compensation normalization
  • Researching and implementing the most meaningful and desirable benefits and perks
  • Building and implementing effective company-wide people processes and enhancing those we already have in place
  • Effectively navigating sensitive HR issues, being especially thoughtful to maintain legal compliance
  • Finding ways to further champion and instill company values
  • Maintaining facilities that are enjoyable and effective for all Liftoffers  
  • Leading operations team in planning memorable and worthwhile company events
  • Developing and managing department budget
  • Ensuring legal and immigration compliance across various office locations

Our ideal candidate has most of these qualities:

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit; willingness to execute on tactical requirements
  • 8-10 years people/HR experience; 6+ years experience in leading and growing people
  • Not your first people ops role(deo) :)
  • Experience building out people processes in a high-growth startup environment, from 50+ team members to beyond
  • 3+ years recruiting management experience
  • Comfortable with and excited about employer branding
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport across the company
  • Proven success in recruiting and talent management leadership
  • Proven project management skills and ability to hold people accountable for results
