VP, Quality Assurance & Food Safety

You are a leader in quality assurance and food safety, and passionate about ensuring standards are met. You will be responsible for leading and implementing Hampton Creek's initiatives in quality assurance, food product safety and quality control.  You are excited by the opportunity to define and develop a product quality organization for a mission-driven, innovative consumer food company.  You are a self-starter who establishes priorities for the quality assurance organization and drives implementation.

·       Lead quality assurance initiatives including refinement and full implementation of the Hampton Creek Quality Management Program, including Food Safety Modernization Act compliance
·       Review and audit compliance of Hampton Creek’s contract manufacturers with our Quality Management Program
·       Develop, implement and oversee continuous improvement programs with contract manufacturers.  Lead and perform investigations into and troubleshoot quality deviations
·       Ensure compliance and comprehensive record keeping for all mandated quality checks, audits, raw materials qualification, sampling and sanitation activities at manufacturing sites
·       Review and vet prospective manufacturing partners
·       Track, analyze and lead initiatives for all quality related customer complaint issues while teaming with sales, supply chain, and technical services 
·       Define manufacturing quality assurance requirements for new products, including manufacturing controls and product quality test parameters, in partnership with Product Development and operations
·       Improve quality control programs for raw materials and finished goods.  Ensure that products meet defined product specifications
·       Develop staffing plan for QA organization; identify and recruit talented QA professionals who are motivated by Hampton Creek mission and will thrive in Hampton Creek culture
·       Primary liaison for quality-related communications with customers and regulatory authorities
·       Serve as Hampton Creek representative for regional quality forums and initiatives 
·       Perform or lead investigations and troubleshoot on quality deviations or other concerns including defining and implementing corrective action plans (as needed)

·       Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, microbiology or related field, Masters preferred 
·       Minimum of 20 years of experience in food quality assurance role, with experience in both in-house and contract manufacturing and new product launches
·       Comprehensive understanding of QA methodology and processes
·       Knowledge of GFSI standards and FSMA required
·       Demonstrated track record of accomplishment in Quality Assurance roles
·       Ability to make data-driven decisions driven from the lens of assurance of product safety and quality, customer expectations and regulatory compliance requirements
·       Willingness to work in a collaborative environment with coworkers from diverse technical backgrounds
·       Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and manage to/achieve metrics 
·       Strong internal and external customer focus with great follow-up 
·       Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to reporting accuracy
·       Good verbal and written communication skills
·       Proven leadership skills, coaching and developing leaders & employees 
·       Strong project management and computer skills
·       Willingness to travel as required
