Wolfram|Alpha Notebook Edition Intern

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated Wolfram|Alpha Notebook Edition Intern to join its Wolfram|Alpha Math Content team. Merging the strength of the Wolfram Language and the natural language processing of Wolfram|Alpha, Wolfram|Alpha Notebook Edition is a groundbreaking new education-focused technology.

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic intern who will help enrich and improve the content of Wolfram|Alpha Notebook Edition. This intern will be responsible for curating US Common Core math educational standards for use in Wolfram|Alpha and building example pages for Wolfram|Alpha Notebook Edition math content to be aligned with these standards, focusing on the high-school content areas.


  • Curating Common Core standards
  • Developing example content for US Common Core high-school math standards
  • Developing linguistics to access Common Core standards and related examples
  • Helping assess areas for improvement in user experience and/or content


  • Familiarity with US math education and Common Core standards
  • Competence with Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language
  • Familiarity with math pedagogy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in math education or a related field

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience using education technologies in the classroom
  • Previous teaching experience (e.g. being a tutor or teaching assistant)
