Trade Me is hiring a

Workplace & Events Coordinator (part-time, fixed term)

Christchurch, New Zealand
Full-Time
Trade Me is one of New Zealand's most popular websites with over four million members and more than 650,000 Kiwi visiting our site every day.

Our Workplace team is passionate about creating a work environment & experience that is second to none. We have a rare opportunity for an office superstar to join our team based in Christchurch on a six month fixed term contract, 20 hours per week. You'll play a key role in ensuring we provide an awesome workplace experience to our Christchurch office, including delivering exceptional rituals and events and supporting the wider People Experience team to ensure that we're delivering our employees the experience, learning and growth they need to do their best work and have the best time doing it.

We're a fast-moving company - there's lots of exciting projects and initiatives on the go (including moving into an awesome new office space in Christchurch this year) and as the saying goes 'no two days are the same'. As a team, we're really collaborative and supportive of each other. You'll be part of our wider People team who support over 500 people across three locations in New Zealand.

We're pretty open to how the 20 hours per week are structured - it could be 3-4 days per week, or 4 hours each day.

Here's what you can expect from this role:
Be the Key point of contact for our 40+ Christchurch employees and contractors for anything office and events related and action requests that are sent to the Helpdesk or through other communication platforms such as our instant message app or email.
General office tasks including things like helping guests sign in, working with the wider building management team, signing for courier deliveries, ordering stock and office consumables (including kitchen and stationery stock) and managing the starter/leaver process.
Be a key liaison for service providers and contractors about day-to-day issues, building requirements and facilities issues.
Ensure we have superb office functionality and the office's appearance is maintained. This includes keeping our office tidy, consumables stocked, supporting desk and office moves (as mentioned above we are moving to a new space this year so this role will be instrumental in coordinating the move).
Be part of the Health and Safety Committee and ensure the Christchurch office is a safe place to work by identifying and rectifying any H&S issues and implementing new H&S initiatives.
Support the set up and delivery for All Company events and People Experience events (including learning and leadership programmes).

What you will bring to our team:

Experience within an Office Administration/Coordinator role
Experience in office moves/relocations and facilities management would be awesome
Some experience organising events
The ability to work in a fast paced environment - being proactive is a must!
A positive outlook - you'll be calm, resilient and resourceful under pressure.
The ability to prioritise and deliver, as you'll need to juggle multiple projects, tasks and queries and see these through to the end.
A great attitude - you'll love working with people and get a kick out of helping others.

We know some candidates can be reluctant to apply for roles if they feel they don't 'tick all the boxes'. If you're excited about this opportunity, we'd still really like to hear from you.
