Zendesk Administrator

As a Zendesk Administrator you will be working in a enterprise solutions team with skilled developers and applications engineers that maintain the most commonly used user facing solutions within Booking.com. Your role will be to govern, maintain, support, architect and help implement Zendesk instances, brands and workflows in a scalable way, managing a sustainable growth of this tool in our organization and identifying areas where we could improve. You will set the bar on the highest quality standards, advocating and enforcing the best implementation practices within our organization. You will need to understand our IT strategy and business needs by collaborating with project managers from different business units, brand and instance owners, IT engineers and the IT management team. As our track scope is rather broad, you will be eventually also collaborating on projects outside Zendesk’s remits and contributing to the team’s project backlog. You will have the opportunity to make a global impact by improving processes and tools that our colleagues are heavily dependent on, and overall contributing to making Booking.com a place where they can perform their best work.

  • Administer our current Zendesk instances and brands
  • Take on new Zendesk implementations end-to-end
  • Engage with the instance and brand owners in the business to understand how to better scale and govern the platform
  • Setup standards for a sustainable growth of Zendesk in Booking
  • Define and promote best practices of Zendesk admins and users
  • Design and create workflows
  • Assist on different Business Applications maintainability

B.skilled

  • Minimum of 4 years experience working as an application engineer in a globally distributed corporate application landscape;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with Zendesk administration. 
  • Experience with technical application support;
  • Background in system administration working in a corporate environment;
  • Mastery in scripting and automation in at least one language;
  • Understanding of networking and the delivery of web based services;
  • Experience with large scale applications implementations using SaaS and/or off-the-shelf solutions;
  • Experience in building relationships with internal stakeholders and external software vendors;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
