Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
We are looking for an experienced bilingual engineer to support our Fab Taylor-Project Executive Operations team. This individual will have detailed knowledge of, and experience with, the successful management of complex engineering projects in an operations and maintenance team environment. The candidate is expected to have sufficient knowledge of the project management process to lead continuous development of the documented procedures required to manage project work successfully in an industrial environment during operation.
Specific Job Duties:
Responsibilities:
· Interfaces with Korean executive leadership (VP and above), operational departments & Headquarters teams (in Korea) to interpret and prepare status updates for Samsung’s Greenfield Fab project in Taylor, TX.
· Interfaces with inter-department Project Managers to execute and monitor Fab Construction; analyzing data, interpreting project status updates, and developing recommendations.
· Works with team members to complete multi-disciplinary project work effectively through communication, project status reporting, schedule creation, and on-time execution. Has basic knowledge of relevant trades and ensures proper coordination for complete review of procurement and construction activities.
· Creates detailed step plans incorporating risk analysis for all executed work including start-up and commissioning.
· Assists in managing consultant design teams, construction general contractors and subcontractors to plan day-to-day activities related to new and retrofit construction.
· Participates in review of project submittals for compliance with design and site specifications.
· Participates in and resolves project issues during construction, particularly those arising from constructability reviews, site observation reports and construction punch lists.
· Manages site record drawings and document libraries to maintain a facilities’ knowledge-base. Includes ownership of P&IDs, PFDs, O&M manuals, relevant drawing files.
· Review and analyze data for equipment/systems to ensure they are running within specifications
· Understand and apply 5S methodology in work spaces and processes to increase efficiency and safety
· Seek out innovative concepts/technologies and drive to implementation
Shift: Day Shift: M-F, 8am to 5pm, Should be will to work late hours when business needs arise and on occasion.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
Requirements:
· Native or bilingual proficiency in Korean
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
· 5+ years of experience in facilities, mechanical systems, or HVAC, MEP, or Process design and construction
Preferred Qualifications
· Professional Engineer’s license or EIT certification is a plus
· Project Management experience & Project Management certification (PMP) a plus.
· Working experience with Microsoft Project or other schedule and resource management software.
· Working experience with AutoCAD Have the ability to create and edit construction drawings, details, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), etc.
