AI Engineer Intern

Your mission

As an Intern AI Engineer at Astrafy, you will work on various projects to help our customers build, deploy, and scale cutting-edge Generative AI solutions. This role is designed for individuals passionate about the practical applications of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents. You will collaborate closely with our engineering teams to create tailored GenAI solutions.
Your responsibilities will focus on learning and contributing to the entire lifecycle of GenAI applications:

• Engage with mentors and team members to understand project objectives and identify opportunities for GenAI.
• Design and develop Generative AI applications, with a focus on agentic workflows and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
• Implement best practices to test, deploy, and monitor the performance and reliability of GenAI applications.
• Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of AI solutions.

In addition to these responsibilities, Astrafy values knowledge sharing. You will be encouraged to learn from our team and share your own findings, with opportunities to contribute to articles that enhance Astrafy’s impact and foster collaboration across the industry.

This is a full-time hybrid role designed for flexibility. You will enjoy 3 remote work days per week to focus and work from wherever you choose, while joining us at our offices at Sol, Madrid, for the remaining 2 days to foster in-person collaboration and team connection.

Your profile

Must have

• A strong interest and foundational knowledge in Generative AI, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• An analytical and solution-oriented mindset with great attention to detail.
• The ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

Nice to have

• Experience or coursework related to specific AI solutions
• A foundational understanding of a major cloud platform, with Google Cloud (particularly Vertex AI) being a strong plus.
• Familiarity with consuming and interacting with APIs.
• Understanding of AI agent concepts, including tool calling, MCP, and skills.
• Experience with GenAI frameworks like ADK, LangChain or LangGraph.
