AI Operations Director
TLDR
Operates as the operational backbone of an enterprise AI Office, turning high-level AI strategy into governance, execution frameworks, and measurable cross-functional impact.
- Partner with senior AI leadership to translate enterprise AI strategy into actionable priorities, operating models, executive narratives, and execution plans that drive alignment and impact.
- Oversee the end-to-end AI portfolio, ensuring clear visibility into ownership, sequencing, dependencies, risks, maturity, and value creation across initiatives.
- Design and manage governance frameworks, operating cadences, and executive forums to enable structured decision-making and consistent portfolio oversight.
- Support prioritization and investment decisions by synthesizing business, technical, and organizational inputs into clear recommendations.
- Identify risks, gaps, duplication, and misalignment across the AI ecosystem, proactively driving resolution and improving execution clarity.
- Act as a central connector across AI, product, engineering, HR, legal, and business teams to strengthen alignment, accountability, and delivery.
- Develop success metrics, reporting structures, and executive dashboards that track adoption, performance, and AI value realization.
- Continuously improve operating models, governance processes, and portfolio management practices to increase execution speed and effectiveness.
- 8+ years of experience in strategy & operations, chief of staff, program management, transformation, or similar enterprise-scale roles.
- Strong strategic thinking and business judgment with the ability to connect high-level vision to execution frameworks and measurable outcomes.
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong program management discipline, including governance, cadence setting, prioritization, and delivery tracking at scale.
- Experience working closely with data, AI, or technology organizations in a strategic or operational capacity.
- Excellent communication, executive storytelling, and stakeholder management skills with strong influencing capability.
- Ability to operate fluidly between high-level strategy and detailed execution, driving clarity and follow-through.
- Demonstrated ability to structure complexity, resolve dependencies, and improve organizational alignment.
