AsanaUP Product Design Apprentice
We are looking for curious, collaborative and creative aspiring Product Designers from non-traditional backgrounds to be apprentices in our AsanaUP Product Design apprenticeship program in our San Francisco Team. AsanaUP is a paid 6-month opportunity to gain the knowledge, tools, and skills that will enable you to thrive in the technology industry.
We’re defining the Work Management category and inventing new ways for teams to work more efficiently together and see the larger purpose behind their work. You’ll partner with Design mentors and experience a mature Product Design team that has an established culture and rituals. You will work directly with Engineering, User Research, Product Management, Data Science, and the rest of our amazing Design crew to ship great products.
As part of a product-driven and design-led company, you will play a key role in a small team of Product Designers owning core product development, from inception to iteration and post-launch reflection. Asana is helping teams in 195 countries become significantly more productive with our leading work management platform. You will design beautiful experiences that make it as simple as possible for millions of users to adopt, use, and benefit from our product, helping us achieve our mission to enable all teams to work together effortlessly.
Asana’s Product Design team is a tight-knit, collaborative group of designers from many different backgrounds who love combining research, data insights, and peer feedback into a user-centered design process. What you’ll achieve
- Collaborate with our experienced designers to discover user problems and transform them into intuitive, human-centered interactions
- Be actively involved in the end-to-end design process of major features and iterations of an award-winning product
- Contribute to everything from the broadest strategic discussions to the specifics of a marketing campaign and launch
- Design and prototype multiple ideas quickly, sometimes with customers, to validate product directions
- Partner with engineers as they build and ship ideas
- Experience career growth and personal development with world-class mentorship and development programs
About you
- You have a non-traditional Product Design background and face barriers of entry into the tech industry, including but not limited to: graduating from a bootcamp, being self taught in product design or do not hold a design related degree or have related experience in Product Design roles
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn and grow
- Online portfolio (website, PDF or presentation) demonstrating a human-centered approach to designing products, and showcasing a strong passion for UX and visual design
- Passion for creating a high-quality user experience, down to those little details that matter
