Opportunity:

This is an exciting new opportunity at XR to join our team in the role of Assistant Global Controller based in our Shared Service Center in Budapest. The ideal candidate will assist the Global Controller to elevate controllership and audit readiness activities in all regions, ensuring timely and accurate close execution, US GAAP-compliant reporting, strong internal controls, and high-quality audit support. The role will also support management reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting activities while partnering closely with other functions to ensure strong financial processes and controls.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead controllership activities to ensure accurate and US GAAP-aligned financial reporting
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual close coordination activities, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables across regions
  • Support external and internal audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules, documentation, and responses to audit requests
  • Strengthen audit readiness through process standardization and documentation improvements
  • Partner closely with R2R to ensure integrity, completeness, and consistency of financial results
  • Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities
  • Support the harmonization of regional processes
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting governance standards
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities in partnership with FP&A
  • Provide working capital insights and support financial transparency across the organization
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives focused on scalability, efficiency, and operational excellence

Requirements

Education & Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/economics
  • CPA/CIMA/ACCA preferred
  • 3-5 years of controlling
  • Fluent English

 

Preferred Skills  

  • Experience supporting external audits and driving audit readiness initiatives
  • Strong understanding of controllership principles, financial governance, and close management processes
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and its impact on financial reporting
