The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Safety, the Assistant Manager, Insurance will be a pivotal leader responsible for managing global insurance portfolios related to body injury & goods protection and designing claims workflow with cross-functional teams.
You will be responsible for exploring and executing different insurance options to enhance the protection of goods being delivered, driving critical risk and data analysis to weed out scams and frauds, and optimizing our proprietary incident reporting system and approval flow. This role requires a high-caliber project manager who can seamlessly bridge the gap between global strategy and local market execution while managing complex stakeholder landscapes.
What you’ll do:
Lead Cross-Functional Initiatives: Act as the primary project manager and bridge between functions (Legal, Anti-Fraud, Product, Business Intelligence) to determine insurance needs, procure insurance policies and design workflows.
Own Incident Reporting System: Continuously improve our proprietary incident reporting system and approval flow with automation, ensuring it remains a robust tool for cross-team collaboration, incident escalation, and claims management.
Blueprint & Framework Creation: Partner closely with Legal and leadership to build a compliant, comprehensive company-level framework for Lalamove’s Driver & Goods Protection Insurance Programmes and Organized-Crime Detection.
Global Localization: Design executable claim workflows and actively roll out/tailor the insurance program across multiple markets, adapting to distinct local regulations and operational needs.
Fraud Detection & Mitigation: Participate in detecting and preventing suspicious and fraudulent activities, utilizing data analytics to monitor insurance fraud.
Policy Enforcement & Strategy: Collaborate with the Anti-Fraud team to translate fraud strategies into actionable enforcement workflows for CX, Platform Operations, and Local Driver Operations (e.g., facial recognition triggers, dormant account risk, driver banning/suspension protocols).
What you'll need:
