Assistant Manager, Technical Services

As an Assistant Manager – Technical Services, you will lead and optimize the tire uniformity process. You will focus on improving as-produced yield, reducing cured and green tire waste, and stabilizing machines to ensure consistent performance while driving manufacturing excellence. You will analyze daily uniformity data and implement process improvements to achieve targeted as-produced yield. You will collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet daily business center KPIs. You will lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for uniformity-related issues, including high cured and green tire scrap arising from the tire building process. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards at all times.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • You will deliver OE Yield as per plant targets.
  • You will ensure CT waste and GT waste are maintained within plant targets.
  • You will conduct process capability studies to evaluate and improve performance.
  • You will develop and implement standards to ensure process consistency.
  • You will monitor and control uniformity yield, taking corrective actions and conducting trials across all codes during shifts.
  • You will communicate effectively with shift associates across all shifts to provide necessary support.
  • You will lead and participate in process improvement projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • You will perform Why-Why analysis on a daily basis for low yield and high waste codes.
  • You will analyze yield data and define actionable improvement plans.
  • You will ensure timely disposition of held-up components and green tires.
  • You will lead teams during size changes, breakdowns, and manage yield and waste in the tire room.

Education and Experience

  • You should hold a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Rubber Engineering.
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the tire industry.
  • You should have knowledge of tire compound features and compound testing requirements.
  • You should understand tire performance requirements.
  • You should possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • You should demonstrate a strong focus on Operational Excellence, Safety, and Environment.
  • You should have the ability to identify and effectively utilize corporate resources.
  • You should be capable of driving mix efficiency.
  • You should be proficient in A3 and DMAIC methodologies.
  • You should have knowledge of input treatment specifications.
