POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Director, Clinical Science Trainer in Medical Affairs is a key cross-functional team member contributing to training and execution of Day One's Medical Affairs’ priorities. The Associate Director, Clinical Science Trainer is responsible for analyzing and interpreting study data, medical conference presentations, and publications for department training. This includes internal Continuing Education, Training Library management and general disease and professional training. The Associate Director, Clinical Science Trainer will be responsible for coordinating each Medical Conference summaries and debriefs with the Sr. Medical Director and Medical Science Liaison team for the company. The Associate Director, Clinical Science Trainer will also be responsible for new Medical Affairs staff on boarding training with the respective manager within the department. Externally, the Associate Director D will be responsible for Independent Medical Education/Continuing Medical Education (IME/CME) oversight to ensure medical strategy is maintained responsibly for funded programs.
A portion of time will be externally facing, and the Associate Director, Clinical Science Trainer will work closely with other R&D and cross-functional colleagues to support key clinical trials for Day One Bio. This position is expected to support the overall US Medical Affairs plan and aid with brand strategies for successful pre-launch, launch, post-launch medical initiatives.
This position has the potential to be fully remote. Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time for in-person meetings and conferences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Department Training:
· Provide leadership for the development and implementation of ongoing training for Medical Affairs staff. This includes up-to-date disease state training (including diagnostics, disease pathways and current standard of care and outcomes) and will maintain communication of contemporary KOL opinions.
· Organize and maintain training library as reference for department members and members of cross-functional R&D functions.
Medical Conferences:
· Provide coordination for medical conference summaries and debriefs by Medical Affairs for Day One Bio in collaboration with the MSL team.
Independent Medical Education/Continuing Medical Education (IME/CME):
· Coordinate review and oversight of IME/CME program for Day One Bio.
Research:
· Work with the Sr. Medical Director to review clinical data and execute clinical development strategy with KOLs.
· Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Operations to expedite execution of clinical trials when requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Masters/PhD degree in health science field, PharmD, MD (non-US MD acceptable), MSN, or other relevant advanced degree in a health science field.
· The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of clinical research experience in oncology clinical trials, including 2-3 years of industry experience.
· Adult training experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical company.
· Excellent time management skills including reliability and using discernment to prioritize and complete tasks, meet deadlines, and be flexible to changing priorities.
· Sincerity and a caring attitude toward others.
· Possess a growth mindset and interest in continuous learning.
· Desire to make an impact in the lives of patients with cancer.
· Excellent working knowledge of ICH GCP guidelines, CFR, EMA, and HIPAA regulations.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills with team members and externally facing stakeholders.
· Excellent presentation skills.
· The ability to manage multiple priorities, while maintaining attention to detail, is critical.
· Experience operating effectively within a matrixed work from home environment, specifically in a healthcare biotech/pharmaceutical start-up setting.
· Possess strong and influential leadership skills with proven ability to lead the focus of internal and external team members at all levels.
· Must thrive working in a fast-paced innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
· Must have strong work ethic and be able to work independently and productively.
· Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and IXRS/EDC platforms).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $187,000 - $200,000. Day One considers a range of factors when determining base compensation. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
