What We’re Looking For:
Golin is looking for an Associate, Healthcare in our Toronto office to join a dynamic team of public relations professionals who are passionate about healthcare. Our Health & Wellness Practice works with some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world to deliver strategic, creative and relevant communications solutions to address their key business challenges.
Overview:
You have experience working on healthcare and pharmaceutical brands and will play a key day-to-day support role with Golin Toronto’s Health & Wellness clients. Enthusiasm, forward-thinking, collaborative, positive attitude and self-discipline are character traits of the person who will take on this role.
What You’ll Do:
You will work on projects within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries to support client positioning and storytelling efforts around disease education and awareness, high science and Health Canada regulatory milestones.
- Support client programs and campaigns
- Conduct background research
- Support the development and execution of integrated healthcare and pharmaceutical communications campaigns
- Conduct daily media monitoring and create client reports
- Develop campaign wrap reports that celebrate our successes and results
- Identify health media opportunities for clients, both locally and nationally
- Develop strong relationships with a range of health media and health influencer related partners, as well as vendors and suppliers, on behalf of Golin
- Create health media lists, ensure lists are up to date with the latest information
- Daily use of monitoring and social listening tools (Infomart, Meltwater, PressReader)
- Utilize Golin’s proprietary media and influencer tools
- Produce a variety of client reports, conduct competitive analysis and develop research briefs
- Develop all types of content related to healthcare and pharmaceutical brand communications, including media advisories, news releases, media pitches, presentations, sponsored content and social posts, as well as proofreading, referencing and preparing reference packages
- Provide account administration, including opening POs, tracking budgets, managing vendor relationships
- Act as a mentor to interns
What You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree and post-secondary education in public relations/ corporate communications
- Internship in a health related industry or 1 year of experience in a PR agency working with a variety of healthcare and pharmaceutical clients. Experience navigating medical, legal and regulatory processes, as well as ASC and PAAB submissions is a plus
- Impeccable organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to draft reports and materials
- Experience working with health media, preparing media materials
- Time and task management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands
- Tons of attention to detail, adaptable and ability to be both agile and collaborative
- Confidence with the ability to be forward facing with client partners
- Poise and calm under pressure and a desire to immerse yourself in a client's business to become a true partner
- Ability to communicate both verbal and written in French language is definite asset
