Kitchen Table Consultants (KTC) is seeking an hourly, full-time Bookkeeping Consultant to support small farm and food companies in developing sustainable business and financial practices. KTC is a consulting firm, passionate about regional food systems and entrepreneurial businesses. Our goal is to make farm and food businesses profitable for good.

This role is part of the financial team and reports directly to our Bookkeeping Specialist. We are looking to fill this position in March of 2022.

Scope of Work

• Create financial foundations for clients using KTCs existing financial management structure and approach
• Reorganize client’s existing chart of accounts to fit KTCs established COA standards
• Develop and maintain QuickBooks files for clients
• Enter in daily or weekly transactions
• Monthly reconciliations of accounts and loan accounts
• Develop & execute virtual, monthly financial presentations 
• Virtually teach and train clients through effective communication on processes.
• Validate client’s complete understanding of their financial systems through effective follow through.
• Work with the KTC Bookkeeping Team to further develop sustainable and repeatable financial practices and processes for our clients to use

Requirements

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping, accounting, receivables/payables is required. 
• A minimum of two years experience utilizing Quickbooks Desktop or Quickbooks Online
• QBO ProAdvisor certification required (can be acquired after hire)
• Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and Zoom.
• Central or Eastern Time Zone
• Previous experience working remotely as part of a team
• Ability to handle a multitude of disjointed tasks

Other Skills & Useful Experience

• Fluency in Spanish & English
• Preference will be given to candidates with farming and agriculture industry experience
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Willing to learn and excel in online platforms for workflow and communication (Asana, Harvest, Slack and others)
• Understanding of CPA guidelines preferred
• Understanding of nationwide sales tax and payroll processes
• Familiarity with GAAP

Compensation & Benefits 

• Full Time: 32 hours/week minimum.
• Hourly pay between $20 and $30 per hour, depending on experience
• Flexible work schedule
• Federal holidays, sick time and paid time off.
• This is a remote position - we’ll provide you with a company owned laptop, some other snazzy equipment, and a monthly stipend to cover part of your phone and internet bills.
• No travel required
• You may elect to join KTC’s healthcare coverage and we will cover a percentage of your monthly premium.. Dependent coverage costs will be your responsibility.
