Brand and Product Marketing Manager - Fragrance

At Glossier, we’re building a modernized Brand and Product Marketing discipline: bringing together the best of traditional product marketing with a community-driven, brand-focused, omnichannel approach.

The best candidate will have an integrated marketing skill-set that includes global product and brand marketing knowledge, with a passion for thinking both creatively and analytically. You will be helping to develop the creation of our fragrance pipeline and robust, measurable campaigns and strategies that put our customer first, whether we’re thinking through the lens of product marketing or experiential community drivers. You will have a challenger mindset, always looking to be three steps ahead of our target consumer and actively monitoring the cultural and media landscape. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Brand & Product Marketing.

Six Month Expectations 

  • Lead all fragrance projects at Glossier 
  • Pick up and oversee all fragrance projects for 2024 and 2025 launches
  • Develop and drive effective marketing strategies for integrated product and brand awareness campaigns for the fragrance category 
  • Research and continue to develop expertise within the category and competitive landscape
  • Initiate, develop, and present cohesive and complete product overviews, creative briefs and comprehensive 360 go-to-markets
  • Craft innovative, brand-right concepts/new product briefs, in partnership with product development focused on creative storytelling
  • Function as lead for all fragrance launches and animations, working cross functionally with all marketing and channel leads to develop an effective 360, integrated campaign
  • Work closely with the Creative team from campaign brief through to production, to enable the creation of assets that serve our business, brand and customer experience goals
  • Responsible for internal communication with all cross-functional partners as it relates to fragrance positioning and campaign briefs 
  • Monitor and manage critical dates and influence cross-functionally to support the execution and delivery of tasks needed to stay on track of our product pipeline and campaign lead times in a timely manner 
  • Collect and analyze emerging/future trends, sales trends, pricing analyses, category shifts, COG changes, market intelligence, and competition to inform actionable recommendations
  • Compile, organize and analyze marketing analytics and sales data to inform strategic proposals and decision making 
  • Initiate and manage cross-functional meetings as needed for all fragrance projects 
  • Own budget management, calendar and tracker management on a weekly basis

Twelve Month Expectations

  • Become Glossier’s in-house fragrance marketing expert, leveraging market trends, consumer insights, and sales data to provide data-based recommendations for innovation and newness to our product portfolio as well as recommendations for core fragrance activations 
  • Support and drive forward the development of the fragrance category strategy for 2025 and 2026 (inclusive of international expansion activity), partnering with PD on product concepts that execute on that strategy, defining how they fit within the Glossier portfolio, the point of difference in the market, positioning and approach 
  • Support the entire marketing team with ideating and leading process improvements around project management and marketing campaigns

Qualifications 

  • 4+ years relevant work experience in fragrance marketing 
  • Is a self-starter, able to take initiative, and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong visual and verbal presentation skills; ability to present to small and large groups comfortably, including management and at the executive level 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations; calm in the face of chaos, direction changes, and unexpected curveballs.
  • Strong ability to manage and organize complex projects with multiple stakeholders, work streams, shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Proactive in reaching out to cross functional team members to problem solve and keep projects moving forward
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Aptitude for thinking strategically and analytically, with a results-driven mindset. Able to understand that we’re looking at the forest, but also which trees are important. Scrappy when they need to be 
  • Aspiring marketer who is agile and believes there are always better ways to do things and isn’t afraid to take initiative
  • Passionate about beauty with a curative lens on innovation and market and industry trends
  • Responsible, accountable, organized, and have the ability and potential to assume increased responsibility in handling a multitude of detail-oriented projects at one time
  • Intensely curious human being - always asking questions and trying to understand the deeper ‘why’
  • Ability to translate insights into actionable and strategic recommendations

In accordance with the applicable law, the following represents a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation range for this position:

The estimated annual pay range for this role is $82,000 - $107,000. There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.Full-time positions are also eligible for a competitive compensation and benefits package that include medical health insurance, 401K, equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units,, Paid Time Off, Short Term and Long Term Disability leave, and a range of other benefits. Compensation for the role will be determined based on permissible, non discriminatory factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
