Business Development Executive - Food to Go & Retail Channel (Foods Division)
Territory: Leinster
The Food to Go & Retail Channel has been identified as a key growth area for Kepak Foods Division over the next 5 years. The Business Development Executive positions will be critical in delivering this continued growth.
The Business Development Executive will be required to gain a good understanding of the Irish FTG & Retail market and develop a customer base with a specific focus on the Kepak branded portfolio. This will involve developing strong relationships with key End-Users and working closely with the relevant Distributor partners and also include visiting delis in Centra, Supervalu and BWG estate.
An important aspect of this role will be scoping out the sales opportunity within the territory in line with Kepak strategic pillars and Kepak values, delivering tangible results and developing this business into a long-term sustainable model. This will require both an entrepreneurial and a structured approach in conjunction with the local Distributor partners. The Business Development Executive will need to be able to prioritise their time in an effective & efficient manner, in order to achieve the growth targets and maximise the return on investment for the business.
Requirements
- To achieve designated business targets & KPIs within your region.
- To support the Channel Head with delivery of the overall business development objectives.
- To identify key customer targets and develop a robust engagement plan to deliver.
- To work collaboratively with the distributors’ sales teams to ensure all opportunities are maximised.
- To develop and successfully implement joint business plans for End-Users and Distributors.
- To develop strong business relationships across your region.
- To utilise all analytical tools and marketing support in order to help achieve the business objectives.
- To ensure all End-Users’ requests are dealt with in an efficient manner.
- To demonstrate all products to end users & distributors, high-lighting features and benefits.
- To work closely with the internal Kepak stakeholders to ensure all business development initiatives are executed to the highest standard.
- To gather and feedback market intelligence (e.g. competitor activity, etc.) on a regular basis.

- An ability to influence the key decision-makers within an organisation.
- Good communication skills that will keep all parties informed as well as managing expectations - both internally and externally.
Skills and Experience
- Experience within Foodservice sector Deli/Retail/Supermarket Sales is desirable
- 3yrs full-time Field-sales experience desirable
- Full clean drivers licence
- Computer literate
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Determination to achieve and willingness to continually learn
- Problem solving
- Commercial acumen.
