Business Operations

Things go wrong at companies all of the time. Whether it’s website outages, data breaches, or overwhelmed support teams, incidents are almost inevitable in a world increasingly run by technology. We're building the best way to help your entire organisation respond, review and learn when things go wrong, big or small.

Though we've only been around since March 2021, we’re backed by world-class investors at Index Ventures and Point Nine, and have many customers from all around the world. Our customers include high growth startups like Render and WorkOS to billion-dollar companies like GoCardless, dbt Labs and Loom.

Our goals this year are two-fold: strengthen our product-market fit, and grow our team. Not much else is important. In this role, you’ll figure out what the most important thing is that helps us achieve those two goals, and either pour rocket fuel on existing efforts, or own it end-to-end.

Operating as an extension of the founders, you’ll working closely with them, and report to the CEO. You’ll be at the front-line, taking high-priority issues and opportunities from their plates, and seeing them through from start to finish.

This role is perfect if you’d like to start your own company afterwards. We’re very supportive of that — having joined the Future Founder Promise. You’ll gain first-hand experience solving problems that you’ll encounter as you found your own business.

We treat Business Operations as a high priority talent pipeline for leadership. We find incredible people and give them a high level of responsibility to accelerate their career. If successful, you'll likely lead teams and divisions of our company as we scale.

What to expect in your first 90 days

  • Growth: we’re growing very quickly, but how do we go faster? Identify where the bottlenecks are, remove them, repeat.
  • International expansion: when, where and how do we launch next? OK, now go do it!
  • Automation: we love spraying Zapier on problems. What’s being done manually that we could automate with no-code tools?
  • Operations: doing whatever needs to be done to keep us running, freeing up founder time.

About you

  • You’re high energy, execution, hustle, and output. Your often get double the work done in half the time most people think is reasonable.
  • You love going 0-1 on complex projects, and taking true ownership of them. You do anything and everything required to get the job done.
  • You’re a structured and clear thinker, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You’re a self-starter: you proactively identify issues and opportunities, prioritise which is most impactful, and tackle them.
  • You are comfortable when faced with a lot of ambiguity, both technically and organisationally. You’re happiest tackling problems without a clear definition or solution.
  • You embrace the chaos: we’re an early stage company, and a bit of chaos helps you do your best work.
  • You love analysing data to guide your thinking, but you appreciate that early stage companies have to make decisions under lots of uncertainty.
  • You’re likely to have some prior experience in consulting, banking, venture capital, or scale-ups.
