We’re Getir, the pioneers of super-fast delivery. Our story can be divided into three elements: building an awesome people organization that drives this epic machine, making 10-minute grocery delivery possible by figuring out all of its intricacies, and scaling that business by getting people to embrace us.

The story of Getir dates back six years, when it first launched in Istanbul. After becoming the clear-cut market leader in our first market, we decided that other cities also deserved 10-minute delivery, bringing us to the great and diverse city of London.

Close your eyes and imagine sandwiches, shampoo, snacks, and paper towels delivered in an average of 10 minutes throughout the streets of London. Each product in each delivery creates a unique micro-experience. How we choose these micro-experiences, and how we adapt that to our business model, is an integral part of Getir. At Getir, it is not just our users, but also our employees, our team members, who have unique and challenging experiences that bring out the best of themselves.

To support our UK expansion through 2022, we are looking for two new Buyers to join our Commercial team in central London.


What You’ll Do

  • Reporting to our Category Buying Managers / Leads, you will be a member of Getir UK’s Commercial team focused on the selection, costs and sales performance of your range.
  • Work very closely with Partnership teams (think supplier/brand engagement) and a great portfolio of partners (suppliers) to help implement Getir’s product portfolio & buying strategy for the UK. Go down the unconventional way if you believe that’s best for the business.
  • There will be a level of admin in this role especially as you learn the ropes including setting up new deals, suppliers and lines, and on an ongoing basis as you adjust our customer shopping journey to optimise to our commercial KPI’s.
  • Learn from an experienced commercial leadership team, also be given the opportunity to develop the required Trading and Selling skills to become equipped to manage your own areas within the pioneering space in Rapid Grocery.
  • Interface with our Great Partners on activating outstanding and innovative customer offers and help report back how we can make our offer even stronger and more innovative.
  • Establish an overall product portfolio that goes beyond meeting customer expectations, resulting in uncalculated customer delight.
  • Provide opportunity to up-and-coming suppliers whether local or national with differentiating products that lead to new micro-experiences for our customers..

Requirements

  • A strong track record in a retail or fast paced buying/trading environment - direct exposure to grocery eCommerce will be highly advantageous.
  • Negotiation skills that not only achieve the best-in-class product margins and customer offer, but also inspire the rest of the team to continuously become better negotiators.
  • You will be highly enthusiastic and entrepreneurial, you will want to take ownership of your responsibilities and show a real drive to get things done at pace.
  • You have excellent communication and problem solving skills, a natural ability to work with data and draw insights from it that you put into plans.
  • A collaborative working and commitment to the team ethos at Getir, we want you to enjoy working at Getir. We don’t have a hierarchical or slow paced process driven culture. Energy and sharp minds are welcome, collaborative and can do approaches are a must!
  • No job is too big or too small, you will be comfortable being very hands-on in everything in our model in the Business and in Commercial. That real hands on approach is key to the hustle and bustle of our culture.
  • Leverage existing rapports with major suppliers, but also identify and develop new suppliers for Getir, across the complete spectrum of entrepreneurs like us to national brands and wholesalers.
  • Ability to learn fast and adapt your strategies and tactics to the dynamic world of super-fast delivery. Super-fast delivery means sometimes doing other things super-fast
  • Analyse data for insights and demonstrate the attitude/senses of an entrepreneur to develop your portfolio.
  • We still believe in the value of on-site working. When safe, we work collectively in Central London, so a daily commute should be factored in
