Carrier Compliance Manager

We are Loadsmart and we have recently created a new Carrier Compliance Manager position. We are a growth-stage start-up technology company valued at over $1 billion (a tech unicorn), led by a leadership team of logistics veterans and experienced engineers, product leaders and data scientists continuing to disrupt this $800 billion industry.
Our growth all starts with our ability to vet and activate new carrier partners in order to grow our network of partners. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing processes to drive carrier onboarding and quality management. This position requires driving alignment with our carrier partners related to new carrier contracts, motor carrier authority, insurance requirements, and safety scores. You’ll be responsible for managing risk associated with a large network of carrier partners and performing due diligence on an ongoing basis. This role requires coordination with various compliance platforms, including Safer Watch and Carrier411, to ensure minimum standards are being upheld.
This position is an individual contributor role that requires strong process management skills. We are looking for someone that is very detail oriented as you will be responsible for maintaining a large network of partner carriers. Loadsmart values outside-the-box thinking, so there will be an opportunity to create new processes that help drive success.
REPORTING TO: Chris Micks, Senior Director Capacity Development
LOCATION: Chicago or Remote
What you get to do:
- Oversee carrier onboarding process and ensure proper carrier vetting in adherence to Loadsmart carrier requirements
- Create and implement new standard operational procedures to ensure compliance to Loadsmart and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Legal team to validate vendor agreements, particularly Enterprise-level carriers and Private Fleets
- Stay up-to-date on the regulatory environment to ensure alignment with our risk management programs
- Lead compliance vendor relationships, including RMIS, while exploring new vendors to support our compliance strategy
You have experience:
- 3+ years experience in compliance role
- Logistics experience required
- Creating processes that drive efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Collaborating with a variety of teams within an organization
