Introduction to Rainmaking
Rainmaking is a corporate innovation and venture development firm. We create, accelerate, and scale new business with the world’s leading corporations and entrepreneurs. With eight global offices and a team of 250+ staff, we have partnered with over 100 Fortune 500 companies to date. Since 2010, we have invested in and help scale over 950 startups via our industry focused accelerator network. Additionally, we've built 40 of our own ventures. These ventures have generated significant revenue, raised over £45m in external venture capital, and had more than 70% of our venture portfolio returning capital.
Currently we are scaling our investment vehicle within the Transport business area. An opportunity has now opened up for a Chief Investment Officer to join our team.
The role

- The role as CIO entails being a key hire and co-founder of the fund and specifically cover below areas of delivery.
- Delivery portfolio target returns
- Lead legal and governance (incl with MAS)
- Lead fund raising incl PR and marketing and investor relations
- Overall responsible for value creation from start to post deal
- Act as founder, go deep when needed to succeed
- Lead investment thesis
- Recommends on opportunity spaces
- Lead venture building
- Understand LP assets and build into deal making
Experience and skills
- 5 years plus in Venture Capital or Private Equity
- Specifically within portfolio management
- Fundraising experience a plus
- Investor relations experience a plus
- High energy and drive
- High attention to detail and quality
