About the Role

We are looking for a Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to take lead on high priority projects and drive them from analysis to execution. This role will put you in the middle of the action and require you to solve the most complex, interesting challenges of a rapidly-scaling startup. You will work cross-functionally to drive and enable the growth of the business, and have high visibility across the rest of the executive team.

The CoS serves as a force amplifier to the CRO, driving operational excellence to drive the CRO and revenue team more efficiently and effectively.  In this role, you will constantly be looking at what’s ahead and expected to stay on track and ensure the CRO is prepared and the team is operating at full potential. 

This is an opportunity to learn about the industry and get exposure to all aspects of a fast-growing late-stage tech company, and is a springboard to a range of different roles throughout the company. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help identify and implement new opportunities to grow revenue at Ethos
  • Apply business judgment and financial insights to drive decision making related to unit economics, customer acquisition, sales, and new opportunities
  • Drive strategic analyses and special projects forward
  • Help the CRO optimize GTM strategy including core processes and productivity drivers, infrastructure and automation
  • Exceptional qualitative and quantitative analytic capabilities - ability to roll up sleeves, toggling between C-suite and ground level questions
  • Work with the CRO and direct reports to define and manage monthly, quarterly and annual objectives and strategic priorities 
  • Partner with Enterprise Sales team to identify opportunities to improve performance
  • Design communication strategy across CRO’s org and partner with communications team to produce the content appropriate for each audience to improve team alignment, clarity on goals and performance, and share recognition.  
  • Help plan and execute a wide variety of projects and processes involving strategy, operations, and ad hoc special projects
  • Distill information from internal and external sources to identify customer and industry trends to inform strategy

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in business/sales operations, strategy, investing, investment banking, management consulting, or other analytically-intensive roles at either well-established firms or high-growth tech startups
  • Ability to flex between high-level strategic thinking and deep-dive analytical problem solving
  • Well-rounded background in business strategy, sales/go-to-market, and finance
  • Agile self-starter with desire to own and be accountable for projects 
  • Excellent communication skills and effective cross-functional collaborator
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a constantly changing environment and set of responsibilities
  • Motivated self-starter with a track record of success and a proven ability to juggle multiple projects / tasks while hitting deadlines
