What you’ll do 

As a Commissioning Manager you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities for new data center projects in Finland. This role ensures that critical building systems are thoroughly tested, integrated, and handed over to Operations in full compliance with the project design, technical standards, Finnish regulations, and safety requirements.  

 

You will work closely with internal engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and operations personnel to ensure reliable, efficient, and high-quality delivery of all MEP and control systems.  

 

Key responsibilities include 

 

  • Commissioning Planning & Coordination 

  • Supporting development of the Commissioning Plan, schedule, and testing protocols. 

  • Coordinating commissioning activities with Project Management, Construction, Vendors, and Operations, ensuring alignment with project specifications, Uptime/Tier requirements, and Finnish/EU standards. 

  • Assisting with planning FAT, SAT, functional testing, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST). 

  • Technical Execution 

  • Identifying issues, escalating deviations, and supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions. 

  • Maintaining accurate commissioning logs, punch lists, and test documentation. 

  • Executing and witnessing commissioning tests across electrical, mechanical, controls, fire safety, and security systems, including: 

  •  HV/MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, PDUs, ATS/STS, Chillers, CRAC/CRAH, pumps, cooling towers, hydronic systems. 

  • BMS/EPMS/BAS controls and SOO validation. 

  • Fire detection and suppression systems. 

  • Access control, CCTV, ICT/structured cabling readiness. 

  • Quality, Compliance & Safety 

  • Ensuring commissioning activities comply with Finnish regulatory requirements, SFS/EN standards, and environmental/safety rules. 

  • Supporting QA/QC processes to ensure equipment and systems meet design intent. 

  • Adhering strictly to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safe energization practices, collaborating with HSE and project teams to maintain a safe, zero-harm environment. 

  • Documentation & Handover 

  • Preparing and maintaining commissioning documentation including test forms, reports, red-line drawings, and O&M inputs; assist in assembling the final Commissioning Turnover Package. 

  • Participating in formal handover meetings with Operations and Customers and support training activities to ensure Operations teams understand system functionality. 

 

What We’re Looking For  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent 

  • Multiple years of experience and strong understanding of commissioning, installation, or operations of MEP systems ideally in data centers, energy, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.  

  • Experience with testing and commissioning electrical, mechanical, controls, or fire safety systems.  

  • Familiarity with Finnish electrical and safety standards (SFS/EN) 

  • Ability to read and interpret SLDs, P&IDs, schematics, and technical drawings.  

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities in a face-paced environment.  

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a collaborative working style. 

  • Solid problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-driven approach.  

  • Ability to work on-site at the construction location during key commissioning phases 

  • Ability to travel within Finland or Europe as necessary.  

  • Fluency in English
