The Role

We are seeking a Content Lead to join a highly ambitious content team focusing on the Home Services sector (Broadband, Mobiles & Energy). We are looking for someone to take the lead on our content strategy, driving sessions and engagement through a number of marketing channels from SEO to CRM. Working with other marketing teams, do you have the drive to really embody how we engage with our customers via our website and marketing channels?


About the Role:

You will lead a team of four content specialists working both to ensure all content produced by us is of the highest quality as well as driving forward our content agenda of being customer focused and driving up our engagement. Content is at the heart of our website and mission statement.

What you will be doing:

  • Creating a long-term strategy for content production to drive sessions, revenue, and engagement for our Home Services business
  • Work with multiple forms of content from long-form guides, user journeys and transactional pages to news and multimedia to diversify our offering
  • Manage a group of freelancers and experts to give our content the trust and authority our customers expect
  • Manage market changes and updates and stay on top of the latest trends in mobiles, broadband and energy to deliver complex messages in a simple way to our users
  • Own tone of voice working with the brand team, as well as being accountable for content quality and readability
  • Work with our CMS system (experience with Contentful beneficial) to ensure content editors can create visually engaging, helpful content easily.
  • Working with designers and engineers to build the functionality you need.
  • Work closely with marketing channels, especially SEO, to ensure we are delivering market-leading content that is helpful and authoritative.
  • Work with design teams on content and page UX
  • Work with product teams to make sure pages match customer intent and user needs are being fulfilled
  • Use data to analyse and report on the performance and effectiveness of content in different parts of the buying funnel. From session and, revenue to journey goals and sign-ups,, you will be responsible for representing the success of the team to the wider business
  • Coaching and mentoring editors and senior editors to ensure they are delivering market-leading outputs and progressing in their careers.

What we look for in you:

  • Experience in the Home Service area (Mobiles, Broadband, Energy) with market knowledge and expertise
  • Existing experience with or willingness to learn media training to become a spokesperson for Home Services.
  • Strong leadership skills and management experience to coach and mentor staff as well as represent content as a marketing function
  • Ambition, rigour and drive to help ensure our content quality is market-leading
  • Data-driven - focused on continuous improvement using data as well as analysing impact of content inputs
  • Creative - can strategise different content mediums and forms using specialists to support
  • Excellent communication skills
