Controller
The Controller will be the key individual responsible for Ivy’s financial and accounting functions. This role will report to the Executive Team, and responsibilities include:
- Financial and Management Accounting
- Developing Ivy’s financial systems and processes
- Short-term cash flow analysis and forecasting
- Analysis and development of internal controls
- Preparing cash flow and financial projections
- Managing accounts payable
- Develop a process and manage accounts receivable
- Company and departmental budgeting and reconciliation
The ideal candidate will have experience as a senior finance role, preferably in a venture funded, growth stage SaaS provider. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our budgeting and financial reporting processes. The controller will also produce thorough financial-status reports for senior managers and investors to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
Location for the role is San Diego, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, or New York, NY preferred. Remote may be a possibility for the right candidate.

Job Duties:
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, leveraging Bill.com and adhering to client-specific invoicing requirements where necessary
- Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Prepare balance sheet, P&L, cash-flow statements and tax returns
- Provide analysis of financial position for presentation to the board, in response to investor inquiries, and in connection with M&A diligence
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, ensuring financial records and statements are kept in line with applicable laws, regulations and GAAP standards
- Develop and enforce internal controls in accordance with industry best practices
- Manage the Company’s cap table, and administer equity issuances, including under the ESOP
- Evaluate financial technology stack; implement ERP and financial system

Education and Experience
- 7-10 years progressively responsible accounting/finance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required; advanced degree preferred
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant)
- Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting and ability to efficiently manage external tax advisors where needed
- Exemplary history of financial project management
Salary Range
$120,000 - $140,000 (depending on experience)
