Corporate Development Manager

We are currently hiring an Manager who will report to the Head of Corporate Development and will support DoorDash’s inorganic growth efforts broadly. This includes assisting in all aspects of transactions, including strategy formation, developing business cases, deal execution, and integration. Additionally, you will serve as a point of contact for potential acquisition targets, the venture capital community, Fortune 500 management teams, as well as leaders of internal functions at DoorDash. While the primary focus will be on sourcing and structuring of strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities, you may also be involved in other high-impact initiatives providing exposure to our executive leadership.

About You:

DoorDash is looking for motivated candidate with 2-4 years experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, or management consulting. The ideal candidate will be strategic, driven, and analytical with a passion for the on-demand economy and a basic understanding of the software landscape. You should be fluent in performing rigorous financial, valuation, and broad quantitative analysis with a familiarity of basic accounting principles.

What you’ll do:

  • Monitor M&A landscape and key corporate announcements to develop view on key industry activities and overall market trends
  • Identify, research and recommend industries, companies and technologies for DoorDash to evaluate from an M&A or strategic partnership perspective
  • Support all aspects of the M&A process, including evaluation of business model attractiveness, strategic/financial analysis, valuation, due diligence and negotiation
  • Develop and maintain models, dashboards and presentations that track and analyze our industry, as well as prospective M&A opportunities
  • Analyze the company's objectives and identify, recommend and pursue technologies that can accelerate those goals
  • Assess the costs, revenue and other benefits for both near- and long-term roadmaps that leverage the third party’s solutions and existing DoorDash capabilities
  • Identify and educate other executives on new, innovative technology trends and markets, and recommend high-potential investments
  • Build close relationships with leaders at emerging and established companies in the startup community as well as with investment banking and venture capital firms
  • Support the executive team in other key strategic initiatives by coordinating projects across teams, including engineering, product, design, finance, accounting, legal, and growth

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of work experience in investment banking, management consulting, venture capital, or corporate development
  • Extremely proficient in financial modeling and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional senior executives in a fast-changing environment

The Corporate Development team at DoorDash is a small, fast-paced, high-performing group responsible for driving operational excellence as well as sourcing, evaluating, negotiating and executing M&A opportunities and strategic partnerships. This team is central to DoorDash’s continued growth. We work closely with senior leadership and product teams to guide company strategy. We support all aspects of identifying, evaluating, and executing impactful partnerships and transactions that have a significant impact on the overall direction of the company.
