Corporate Events Manager (Remote Eligible)

Okta is looking for a seasoned event professional to join our world-class corporate events team. This person will be a self-starter with a proactive approach. We are looking for someone with a broad range of event and marketing experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, work well independently or as part of a team, have exceptional communication and leadership skills. They must be flexible with change and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

The corporate events team is responsible for executing and ensuring a world-class audience experience at the company’s most influential internal and external events including our annual customer conference (Oktane), large scale Okta-hosted regional events, company kickoff, global sales kickoff, and many more. As all of these events are growing rapidly, and with the pivot to virtual events, we are looking to grow the team to ensure we can continue to deliver the great experience our audiences have come to expect.

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Plan, manage, and execute assigned events independently and with limited supervision.
• Acts as project lead for assigned events, making recommendations and holding all stakeholders accountable for their area
• Set, communicate, and maintain timelines and priorities on every project. 
• Work closely with stakeholders and team members to develop event plans for each event outlining event details, deliverables and marketing initiatives required to promote the event. 
• Coordinate and manage internal teams and external vendors in the execution of marketing programs and maximize vendor strategic partnerships
• Eager to jump in and help with ad hoc marketing projects and open to embracing new challenges.

Required Skills:

• Experience with all aspects of event management including, but not limited to venue/vendor sourcing, vendor management, budget management, registration, communications, campaigns/promotion strategy
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs and priorities while remaining flexible and open to continuous growth and improvement.
• Must demonstrate a professional demeanor and be able to interface with internal stakeholders, external vendors and customers at all organizational levels.
• Able to independently resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
• Passion for learning, passion for new and emerging technology trends.
• Virtual Event experience a plus
• CMP or CMM a plus
