About the Role
JSSI Parts & Leasing (JPL) is hiring a Data Analyst to work in the Data Analytics department.
The Data Analytics department is responsible for collecting, researching, and analyzing internal and external data to provide the company with key metrics on performance, demand forecasts from the part level to the whole aircraft, as well as analytical tools that support business decisions. The Data Analyst will develop new data products and methodologies, while maintaining existing ones. Candidates should have strong analytical abilities and experience developing data-driven metrics. Working knowledge of the aviation industry is an advantage.
The Data Analyst will report to the Data Analytics Manager and will work in the Chicago headquarters or remotely.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, own, and maintain recurrent reporting activities
- Establish forecasts to guide the team in future part or asset acquisitions
- Define and track key metrics to monitor and improve performance
- Develop and maintain sample reports to help the team make business decisions
- Support the Data Analytics Manager in various strategic projects leveraging JPL data insights
- Maintain our system up to date through scheduled and “as-needed” updates
- Suggest ways to improve current analytics methods and reports
- Stay up to date on methods and tools through training
- Provide ideas for continuous improvement
Desired Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or other related degree
- 2-3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist AND/OR Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or other related degree.
- Business related minor is a plus
- Needs to have an interest in the Aviation Industry
- Knowledge of Excel’s advanced functionalities is required
- Computer coding experience (SQL/SOQL preferred, R/Python are a plus)
- Dashboard development experience (Power BI/Tableau)
- Machine Learning experience is a plus
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus
- Ability to learn fast and adapt to new situations
- Highly organized and able to thrive in a demanding environment
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely
