EliseAI is on a mission to revolutionize the housing industry, with the ultimate goal of making good housing more accessible.

Housing is one of our most basic needs, yet our society has failed to provide an adequate supply of quality, affordable housing. EliseAI was created to solve this problem. We use machine learning to create operational efficiencies that enable the development of new housing at scale. Our first product is an AI leasing agent named Elise that answers questions and schedules tours 24/7. Elise is so human-like that renters frequently say they’re “here to meet Elise” when they show up for a tour and some have even asked Elise on a date.

EliseAI is well-funded by VCs, strategic real estate investors, and customers and was started by technical cofounders from MIT and the University of Cambridge.

About the role

EliseAI is growing quickly and you’ll be using our data deriving insights that drive product strategy. You will work closely with the software development and automation teams, designing and building out the infrastructure for 24/7 service for our first million apartments and beyond. You will have a huge impact on a product used by thousands of people a day. We are a fully in-office company with a beautiful new office located at E 33rd Street and Park Ave.

What you'll do

• Build, deploy, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure around the core data infrastructure that powers EliseAI's Analytics
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers and data scientists to understand data needs, representing key data sets that power decision-making across the business
• Organize and optimize data in our relational data store to be clean, accessible, and scalable

Requirements

We recognize that data engineering is often learned “on the job,” so we’re not only looking for people whose resumes check all the boxes. We want someone who is hungry to dive in and learn, but who also values learning and teaching from others in a collaborative team environment. Willing to work in person at NYC headquarters with your team 4-5 days per week.

We’re looking for someone who

• Is driven and excited to join a highly productive team composed of engineers and scientists at a fast-growing startup
• Has 1+ years industry engineering experience building production-quality data pipelines using Python, Java, SQL, spark, or similar
• Has experience using cloud environments like AWS or Azure
• Has Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or another quantitative field
• Is fluent in Linux/Unix
• Willing to work in person at NYC headquarters with your team 4-5 days per week

Nice to haves include

• Existing experience with or interest in ETL pipelines
• Experience designing, building, and monitoring relational databases
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Postgres and Databricks
• Experience working directly with data science/machine learning teams to build data products
